“I WALKED AWAY NOT BECAUSE THE LOVE DIED,
BUT BECAUSE PARENTS COME FIRST.”
A PERSONAL REFLECTION BY ZEESU ROYALIST • FOUNDER, ENGINEER & FORMER COMPOSER
I grew up in a traditional Muslim family where singing, composing original music, and chasing audition stages were never encouraged. My mother and father genuinely wanted a different, stable path for me. Six years ago, out of deep love and profound respect for their wishes, I made the conscious decision to pack up my microphone and step away from music.
It was one of the hardest moments of my life. Walking away from something I poured my soul into brought sadness, but honoring my parents opened unexpected doors into software development and design. Music never truly disappeared from my life — it simply evolved into an intimate, quiet sanctuary that I return to whenever my heart needs to create.
“Art is never lost when surrendered for the ones who gave you life. The music just moved into the silence.”
Melodies, original lyrics, audio engineering, and audition stage dreams.
Packed up the microphone out of love and utmost respect for mom & dad.
Software engineer by trade; music as private, pure midnight creative solace.
